About me

Hi, My name is Alok Brahmbhatt

After being introduced to the camera 19 years ago, as a photographer, I get highly inspired by nature and life around and then I simply cannot resist capturing the beauty of the world around me. When I say life, I mean every living being around me. Though I have consciously chosen to focus on nature as I enjoy being in the lap of Mother Nature, I am a thorough professional when it comes to work inside the studio for various assignments.

My work isn’t limited to capturing pictures, I also write. A major part of my professional experience has been spent in writing. I have written on various photography techniques, interviewed and profiled various renowned names in photography, tested photography equipment for Better Photography magazine which is one of South Asia’s popular photo guide for amateurs as well as photographers. Along with writing and contributing for Better Photography and the Indian edition of Forbes, I have also contributed for other popular titles like Overdrive, AV Max and Disney Adventures. After being associated with publications, I learnt photography National Institute of Design (NID) for a year for further fine tuning of my skills. Along with writing and capturing pictures, I also teach photography. I have been associated with various associations and photography institutions and conduct workshops for amateur as well as professional photographers.

Currently based out of Ahmedabad, I was associated with Mudra Institute of Communications, Ahmedabad (MICA) where I was working on developing on creating an interactive way of teaching case study for students of Harvard Business School. In this project, I worked to the capacity of Director of Photography and converted a case study into a Photo novel which was appreciated by many business schools including HBS. The case photonovel case study is now adopted as part of curriculum for HBS students.

I was associated with Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA) A Government of Gujarat State Nodal Agency as consulting manager for Mass Communication for the activities of the agency.

I keep myself occupied with work and also work as a freelance photographer, travel writer and a communication consultant. I recently got a chance to document the pictures of Royal Enfield’s Himalayan Odyssey a trip to Leh and a ride to Bhutan in 2013. I have also worked on a video documentary for the prestigious Tata Motors for Nano, Junior chamber International Gandhinagar and for a few political personalities.

Worked at News correspondent and photographer for DNA newspaper of Bhasker group. In one year tenure of working with dna Ahmedabad, covered major events, riots, air shows and reported from the field in visuals as well as news stories. Worked with Ahmedabad Mirror for about 5 years covering politics, state government, elections, aviation, district issues and pandemic Covid19 related major issues.

Currently work as Manager – Corporate Communication for Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport of Ahmedabad. It is the largest airport in Gujarat and very important in western India.
